Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarship

Indian Council for Cultural Relations administers various scholarship programs annually and awards about 3000+ scholarships under 21 different schemes to foreign students from about 180 countries. Amongst these 21 schemes, six are funded by ICCR from its grant and others are administered on behalf of MEA and Ministry of Ayush. The courses offered for studies are for Under-graduation, Post-graduation, and Ph.D. levels. Each academic year, ICCR has about 6000+ of its foreign scholars who are studying at various Central/State Universities, Institutes, NITs, and Agricultural Institutions etc.

  1. Applicants must be citizens of countries that are eligible for ICCR scholarships.
  2. There may be specific age limits set for applicants depending on the program.
  3. Applicants with the following qualifications:
    -For undergraduate programs, a higher secondary school certificate or equivalent is required.
    -For postgraduate programs, a bachelor’s degree is necessary.
  4. Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English or Hindi, depending on the medium of instruction for the chosen program.

  2. Academic transcripts and certificates from previous educational institutions.
  3. Two letters of recommendation (preferably from academic referees).
  4. Proof of language proficiency (e.g., IELTS or TOEFL scores if applicable).
  5. A copy of a valid passport.
  6. Recent passport-sized photographs.
  7. A personal statement or motivation letter explaining the applicant’s interest in the program.

  2. Document Submission: All required documents should be uploaded as per the instructions provided during the application process.
  3. Application Fee: If applicable, pay any required application fees as specified.
  4. Selection Process: The selection will be based on document evaluation and may include interviews for certain programs.
  5. Announcement of Results: Results will be announced on a specified date, which will be communicated through official channels.
